Elder Care: Exploring Senior Care Options (Webinar)
Date: Friday, May 23
Time: 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
This webinar is for family caregivers who are coming to the difficult realization
that their elderly loved one may no longer be able to live in their current home and may have to relocate to a care facility.

Esther Goldstein, social worker and author of the Comprehensive Guide to
Retirement Living and Long-Term Care, will address:

· When you should consider different housing options
· How you might discuss relocating with your loved one
· What are your care choices in home and housing options

Free copies of the facilitator’s book or CD will be available in the Family Care
Office after the session.

Facilitator: Esther Goldstein is a social worker and author of the Comprehensive
Guide to Retirement Living and Long-Term Care. She worked as a hospital
social worker in the GTA for 12 years primarily with the geriatric population and
now currently works full-time on her publication and the affiliated website
www.senioropolis.com

Please register early, space is limited! University of Toronto students, staff,
faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and their partners/spouses are welcome. Please

Family Care Advisor at UofT Mississauga
Time: Appointments are available between 10 am and 2pm
Date: Wednesday, May 28
Location: Davis Building, U of T Mississauga

If you are seeking support and advice on any personal family matters, a family
care advisor will be available on the UTM Campus to meet with students, staff
and faculty for individual confidential consultations. Book an appointment to
discuss the following:

· Planning for a child, pregnancy, resources for new parents.
· The University’s maternity / parental / adoption/primary caregiver leave
policies.
· Child care, schools & other programs for children.
· Services and supports for an aging family member.
· Balancing work, study & family.
· Parenting strategies.
· Bereavement resources.
· Separation & divorce resources.

following information: your student or staff number, UofT employee group
and/or your union affiliation if applicable, and a brief explanation of your
enquiry.

Venture is holding elections for 2014-2015’s exec team on May 2nd at 3pm!

If you or any other grads you know are interested in being an exec please email Venture your statement paragraph ASAP.

Your paragraph should state what position you are applying for, why you would like to join the team and what contributions you will make for the 2014-2015 academic year. You will also need to prepare a 2 minute speech to present at Venture’s election meeting.

For information on Venture and the available exec positions, please refer to their attached constitution. Please note that the position of President requires that the applicant has been a Venture executive member for at least one year.

All Venture members are welcome to join this meeting to help elect the new 2014-2015 Venture team!
